Cats Anonymous needs your help to “Help Fix Rikki’s Broken Heart”. Rikki is a sweet little kitten who came to the shelter in November after she was found abandoned in a shed. Soon after it was discovered she had a serious heart defect….little Rikki has a hole in her heart! Rikki has been referred to the University of Guelph where doctors will do a full work-up and a plan for surgery.
In the meantime, a fundraising campaign has been created to help cover Rikki’s medical expenses, and Cats Anonymous is asking for the public’s help.
You can make a donation on their website at www.catsanonymous.ca under the Canada Helps link, or by attending their official campaign kick-off this Sunday, February 14 at the Fergus Pet Valu store, located at 882 Tower Street South. Volunteers will be in attendance all weekend with a few of their available kitties for adoption. There will also be an info table and a bake sale. Stop in for a visit and make a donation to Rikki’s fund. Everyone who donates will receive a heart-shaped cookie baked by one of their fabulous volunteers.
Cats Anonymous will also be at the University of Guelph on Monday, February 15 as part of the Ariss & District Lions Club ‘Family Fun Day’ event. Bring the family for a few hours of fun and visit their booth to get your face painted. All proceeds from the face painting will help fund Rikki’s broken heart.
Lastly, Global Pet Foods in Fergus is sponsoring Cats Anonymous as their charity of choice for their ‘Show Us Your Heart’ campaign in February. All money raised from this campaign will go directly to Rikki’s fund. Please stop by and support Global Pet Foods and make a donation.
